How To Choose A Hamster

Hello everyone! Are you planning to get a hamster? This tips should help you with that!

1. Test the friendliness.
Stick your hand in the cage and hold it still. If the hamster tries to bite you, realize that they are probably afraid. Also remember that hamsters have bad eyesight and may think your finger is food. If you find a hamster that immediately shows affection, you are lucky; but don't count on it.

2. Check the conditions they live in.
Are other hamsters diseased? If they are, don't buy a hamster from that cage or from that place. Your hamster could also have a disease. Are cages clean? Do the hamsters have food and water? Sometimes the workers don't really notice the disorder the cages may be in, kindly make a suggestion. Are males and females together?(Make sure they are not, if you buy a female it could be pregnat)

3. Look at the hamsters behavior.
If you are shopping at night, the hasmters ought to be active and nice. They should be alert and should be picking up noises. Check if the hamster fight with others, is he nice to the other hamsters?

4. Ask the employees for information of that hamster.
How often are these little beings held? How often do people pay attention to them? Is the one you have chosen nice? Does it react well to strangers? Does it like people? What are its favorite things and foods? Ask them as many questions you want so you can really be sure this is the perfect hamster.

5. Look around the whole place.
Is it run down or well kept? Do they care for the other animals? Sick animals could easily mean sick hamsters. Are all the animals cheerful, friendly, and healthy? The healthier the other animals are, the more likely your hamster is healthy.

6. Make sure there are no diseases or problems with the hamster.
Is it coughing or sneezing? Does it have all its fur? Are there any lumps on its body? What gender is it? Now bring your perfect hamster home!!!
